I wouldn’t say that. It’s not a service that the Jeep required. I’d classify it as an option like bigger tires or lift kit.
You would then have to add in any service work done during the first 3 years of warranty as well.
No, that's already included in the price.

I believe CR should held accountable to posting actual facts and not biased opinion. They should have to prove those facts otherwise their articles are no better than reading rumors.
Not banned, but held accountable…
They are held accountable when awaken people don't pay them.

I think he is talking about the powertrain warranty.

bumper-to-bumper warranty is three years or 36,000 miles.

powertrain limited warranty is for five years or 60,000 miles.
No, he was talking about paying extra for the extended warranty, then not including that in the cost of ownership over that five years.

Saw this on X via Musk. Make of it what you will. For me, I like my Jeep. YMMV.

Golly Vern, compared to Porsche and Land Rover we look Good! (And given Jeep’s history of “quality” that’s scary?. Imagine how bad Rovers must be?

CR is an appliance rating organization and automobiles are not appliances.
I don't know man...straight up EVs are pretty dang close to an appliance...

Many cars, EV or not, are applicances. or that’s how they feel to me at least - my old i3 had a quirky character at least, while driving the current Volvo XC60 is downright dishwasher-loading level of boring (with the exception of the failing tech nannies ghost-braking every now and then)

I would bet that battery replacement cost and recycling fees is not included in the Tesla data. Nor would the higher resale of the Wrangler be reflected. Perhaps that would push the Jeep into even better territory.

Isn’t Wrangle the second highest selling Jeep branded vehicle under the GC. Are they not used in more “challenging” conditions than the vast majority of other vehicles on the list ? Extreme off road use is not a list consideration, yet Jeep still shows reasonably well. ?

Battery replacement is mythology

JL resale values have plummeted

Tesla is among the absolute worst in initial quality and reliability.
Initial quality does not equal cost of ownership.
My wife has had a Tesla as a company car (Owned by firm, not leased) and there were a few niggles, but at no cost to the consumer.
The 4 year service it just had was the most expensive one so far at 500€. On average, we pay like 150 a year for an inspection. That's it.

95% of Wrangler owners are doing nothing more than they would do with a Tacoma or Colorado. If you look at the entire ownership of Wranglers and compare it with that of any brand's full-size pickups, the full-size pickups see much worse abuse on average.

Initial quality does not equal cost of ownership.
I didn't say it does. But they are closely related.

Lexus seems to be way too low on the list. We didnt spend nearly anything on ours in 100k miles
I would rather do oil cooler leak or rockers arms on a 3.6 vs multi thousand dollar timing cover leaks on certain 4.0 and 3.5 Toyota products from 2005 to now. Valley pan/heat exchanger on V8s. Replacing cracked direct injector during removal. ABS pump failures over the years.

Mythology? How so? Please clarify, thanks.
For starters out of warranty battery replacement is as rare as engine replacement, also a somewhat diminished battery range does not even mean a battery replacement is required because people can still use the vehicle within it's reduced range.

Max battery range only matters for high mileage drivers, and those people probably shouldn't be driving an EV in the first place.

Some earlier EVs had battery issues, but that seems to be a thing of the past.
