Just a thought when using 12V compressors- if you run the engine when using the pump, you'll get noticeably better performance and the compressor motor may run a bit cooler, due to the extra couple of volts from the alternator. Electric motors don't mind too much voltage, but too little kills them.

And you may not be able to start your Jeep in the morning if you were not running the motor while filling the tires.

Yep, I always run the engine. Just gets shook, rattled, and dusted to death on the trail. Plus, not always shade to keep it out the sun when filling. They're just cheap pumps meant for nothing more than the occasional fill up of a normal car tire.

The latest failure of the pump wasn't thermal related, but the power switch unit got vibrated to pieces.

It's almost full and never gets used.

Fast fills, but you have a huge tank that really doesn't fit with the soft top, is noisy banging around in the sport bar mount, and ever 2-3 trips you need to get it filled.

Every trip if you are being generous and fill other's tires.
