While the JL seats in the rear feel a little more reclined than the JK I still wanted more. Since the recline kits are super cheap ($20) I figured why not.

Follow the video for install instructions, it's the same as the JK...the only difference is you have to yank up pretty hard to get the cover for the rear bolt access off. Otherwise its straight forward. Before and after pics attached... look at the window etching to see the difference...

Camera was set in the exact same position for the first and second picture.

Feels more tolerable for longer rides for sure. My daughter (5'7") says it feels much better! I'm 6'1" and it feels better to me as well. A little more under leg support as well which is nice.

The seats do not lay as flat as before, but it is a VERY slight difference. I have seen some folks who say they want it almost flat. This mod will change that a bit...

Honestly, I rarely fold my seats down, so I don't care if they fold flat.

Thanks for taking the time to photograph from the same position before and after the modification. I was wondering if you notice whether or not this lowers the appearance of the rear seat in the rear view mirror? Does it increase your visibility?

No problem!

I didn't really notice much of a difference. My wife usually flips the headrests down if no one is in the back, they tend to be the biggest issue. The decline didn't change much in terms of visibility though.

Interesting! Looks like this would be a great addition.

Rated/approved for child seat installations?

Not sure, but considering all it does is change the angle of the seat back more I don't see how it could impact it from a safety perspective. My Grand Cherokee leans much further back in the rear that the wrangler does even after the install.

I wonder if the recline would create any more room with child seats in the car to give them more leg room (or allow driver and front seat passenger to have a bit more room to move back)...

Kris, thanks for taking the time to take and post these pics! Definitely something worth considering.. I don't have many passengers though.. and I don't even have my ride yet so... TBD.
