Many of us have been willing to drive "a ways" to get an exceptional deal. It's relatively common to fly to the dealership and make a significant road trip out of driving home.

Note that where you have it serviced is almost always unrelated to where you bought it. That's a secondary / unrelated consideration.

Many of us have been willing to drive "a ways" to get an exceptional deal. It's relatively common to fly to the dealership and make a significant road trip out of driving home.

Note that where you have it serviced is almost always unrelated to where you bought it. That's a secondary / unrelated consideration.
One thing to add to that is if you live in CA and buy a Jeep in another state, make sure that they only charge you the CA sales tax at time of purchase. Otherwise you will pay sales tax again when you register it in CA. As far as service, I always try to buy/lease where I know their service department is near and good since as their actual customer, you will have more leverage with them when you need service favors. Also, if it is a warranty issue Mopar will only pay towing charges to the nearest dealership (which might have a terrible service department) vs a good relationship with the dealership where you bought it will typically get them to pay the extra cost to tow it back to them for service.

Also make if you buy a 392 it has the 50 State Emissions, I saw a few instances where it didnt have 50 states and it made it impossible to register from what I heard.

Pick your own poison, whether it's sales or service your not going to get both. Buy out of state for the model you want and a great deal but you still have to get it registered here.

I bought my 2012 and 2024 Jeeps from GET Dodge in Signal Hill, I also get my Jeeps serviced here. Personally haven't had any issues with them, got solid deals (under affiliate + rebates without affiliate) but also bought off the lot.

I bought my 2018 from Hunter Dodge in Lancaster (used affiliate) and bought off the lot. Seemed ok, but when I talked to them later (2021-ish?) the person I talked to moved on, and the new person was an idiot. :P

Haven't bought from Robert Trachtman/Tuttle click, but the next Jeep is definitely going to be custom built and I'll probably go through Robert.

I am not sure about any “hype”. And I can’t speak to today’s prices and deals. At the time I purchased his prices were fair and he was honest. At least he is honest enough to admit he didn’t have the best deal up front. Many people in sales bend the truth to get you there and then say…well my manager won’t let me. You are smart for doing your own homework,

do not be surprised if that local "deal" changes when it comes time to trade cash for keys. it's not unusual for Dealers to think if you physically walked in, you're already theirs.

i shopped around by phone, then e-mailing my build sheet to Dealers to invite them to bid.
it's been a few years, but i got the best price at that time from Trachtman.

the next-best price was very close, and several hours less driving away from me, so i bought from:

ANTIOCH CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE INC
1810 AUTO CENTER DR, ANTIOCH
no idea if he's still there, but it was no BS, a quick easy clean deal.

it helped very much that i knew exactly what i wanted, and started out negotiations with the Tread Lightly below-invoice pricing.
