I was driving about 3 hours and wanted to maximize the amount of fuel I would be buying (for reimbursement for a job) just before my final destination. I stopped once just to add a couple of gallons to get me to the gas station near my final stop, so I knew I had enough to get me there.
Pulled off the freeway (thank goodness) and saw the dreaded turtle 1 block away from the gas station. Within seconds my Jeep slowed to a crawl and I had to pull over. Thankfully I just walked over with my gas can and got myself back up and running to fill up, but it could have been a lot worse.
What an absolutely stupid and dangerous 'feature!'
